Dulwich College is a historic independent boys’ school on a spacious south-London campus, with a reputation for combining academic rigour with an exceptionally varied co-curricular programme. Its grounds, sporting facilities, music and theatre provision, and emphasis on service and wider intellectual interests make school life much broader than classroom study. Boys join from both local primary schools and prep schools across London and beyond.
At 11+ (Year 7), the College publishes approximately 90 places; applicants take entrance examinations and around 180 are typically invited to interview. At 13+ (Year 9), about 80 external boys join approximately 150 progressing from the Lower School, producing a year group of around 230. Roughly 50 external 13+ places are awarded through deferred-entry examinations in Year 6 and 30 through assessments in Year 8. Dulwich uses its own entrance tests, rather than the ISEB Pre-test for deferred 13+ entry.
