To make the “writing coach” experience work, we collect:

  • Account Basics: Name, email address, and month/year of birth (to ensure age-appropriate content).
  • Writing Data: The text you write within the app so our AI can provide feedback.
  • Progress Stats: Your streaks, XP, and badges to keep your momentum going.
  • Usage Data: Technical info (like device type) to make sure the app runs smoothly.

2. A Special Note on Children’s Privacy

Because we serve young learners and students, we adhere strictly to UK GDPR, the Children's Code (Age Appropriate Design Code), and international student privacy standards. We take extra care to protect our younger users:

  • Parental or School Consent: We require verifiable parental or institutional school consent to set up accounts for children under 13.
  • Data Minimalism: We do not ask for, collect, or store addresses, phone numbers, or school names unless explicitly required for a specific school-administered program.
  • Strict Safeguarding: We deploy multi-layered guardrails—including real-time prompt injection detection and automatic PII (Personally Identifiable Information) scrubbing—to ensure our community features like the Leaderboards and Creative Arena remain completely safe and age-appropriate.
  • No Tracking or Profiling: We do not track children across the web, nor do we build behavioral profiles for commercial or advertising purposes.

3. How We Use Your Data (and Our Zero AI-Training Guarantee)

We use your data solely to run the platform, track your learning progress, generate "AI Magic" images, and deliver instant, real-time writing assessments.

We do not use children's writing samples, prompts, or generated content to train, improve, or fine-tune our AI models or prompts. Your imagination and work stay entirely yours and are kept strictly isolated within our secure enterprise pipeline.

Communication: We will only email you or your school administrator regarding your direct learning progress, rewards, or essential app updates. We never send marketing materials to student accounts.

4. Third-Party Services

We use trusted partners for essential tasks (like hosting our servers or sending emails). These partners:

  • Only see the data they need to do their job.
  • Are contractually bound to keep your data private.
  • Cannot use your data for their own marketing.

5. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You are in control. At any time, you can:

  • Request a copy of the data we have for you.
  • Ask us to correct or update your information.
  • Delete your account: If you choose to leave, we will delete your personal information from our active databases.
