Robots: Our Future?
Robots: Our Future?
Write a discursive essay exploring the impact of automation and robots on our society. Your task is to present a balanced discussion that examines both the potential benefits and the possible drawbacks of integrating robots into our daily lives and workplaces.
Key Requirements:
- Genre: Discursive essay
- Tone: Objective and balanced
- Content: Explore both positive opportunities and negative concerns, using clear examples to support your points before reaching a reasoned conclusion.
💡 Writing Tips
- •
Think about the good things robots could do for us (e.g., make things faster, do dangerous jobs).
- •
Also, think about any problems robots might cause (e.g., people losing jobs, not needing to think as much).
- •
Give examples! Where do you see robots now, or where might you see them in the future? (e.g., self-driving cars, factory robots, cleaning robots).
- •
Try to write an introduction, one paragraph about the good things, one about the not-so-good things, and a conclusion.
📝 Sample Answer
Robots are becoming more and more common, and it makes you wonder what our future will be like. On one hand, robots could make our lives much easier. Imagine robots cleaning our houses, helping doctors in hospitals, or even driving our cars so grown-ups don't have to worry about traffic. They could do boring or dangerous jobs, like working in factories that make lots of things, meaning people are safer and have more free time for fun activities.
However, there are also things to worry about. If robots do all the jobs, what will people do? Some people might lose their jobs, and that could be very difficult. Also, if we rely on robots for everything, will we forget how to do things ourselves? It's a tricky question, but I think robots could be amazing if we use them carefully and make sure there are still plenty of important jobs for people to do.
