💡 Writing Tips

  • •

Think about two sides: What are the good things about children inventing? What are the tricky parts or reasons it might not always be easy?

  • •

Give examples! Imagine a child inventor and what amazing (or even silly!) thing they might create.

  • •

Use connecting words like 'also', 'however', 'on the other hand', and 'therefore' to link your ideas smoothly.

  • •

Start with a short introduction to your topic and finish with your own opinion in the conclusion.

📝 Sample Answer

Should children be encouraged to invent from a young age? It's a really interesting question. On one hand, I think it's a fantastic idea! Children often see the world differently from adults. We're not stuck in old ways of thinking, so we might come up with super creative solutions that nobody else has thought of. Imagine a child inventing a new way to clean plastic out of the ocean, or a clever device to help them remember their homework! It could also teach us to love problem-solving and never give up, which is a brilliant skill for life. For example, my friend Leo once made a 'super-tidy-upper' machine out of cardboard boxes and string – it didn't work, but he learned so much trying!

However, some people might say that children should just enjoy being children, playing and learning without the pressure of 'inventing'. Also, inventing can be hard and sometimes things don't work, which could be frustrating. Perhaps it's better to learn the basics first before trying to change the world. But personally, I believe the benefits outweigh the difficulties. Encouraging children to invent sparks their imagination and teaches them to be creative thinkers. We might just be the ones to come up with the next big idea to make the world a better place.
