Your Task:

Make sure to clearly explain your reasons, back them up with explanations, and address why outdoor play is more beneficial than screen-based activities.
💡 Writing Tips
- •
Hook Them In! Start with an exciting question or a strong statement to grab parents' attention right away.
- •
Three Big Reasons: Focus on how outdoor play helps your body (physical), your feelings (mental), and your imagination (creative).
- •
Show, Don't Just Tell: For each reason, give a real example of what you do outside and how it helps you (e.g., 'Climbing trees makes my muscles strong!').
- •
Why Better Than Screens? Clearly explain why outdoor play does these amazing things better than playing on a tablet or watching TV.
- •
Strong Finish! End by telling parents what you hope they will do after reading your persuasive words.

Dear Parents,
Have you ever wondered why children seem to sparkle after a big play outside? It’s because outdoor play isn't just fun, it's absolutely vital for us!
When I'm outside, my body gets a brilliant workout. Running around, climbing trees, or playing tag makes my legs strong and my heart pump fast. This is so much better for my physical health than sitting still with a screen, which doesn't help my muscles grow or my energy flow.
Also, being in fresh air and sunshine makes my mind feel happy and calm. If I'm feeling a bit grumpy, just five minutes outside can make me feel cheerful again! Screens can sometimes make my eyes tired or my brain feel buzzy, but the park always makes me feel peaceful.
Finally, my imagination goes wild outdoors! I can build a secret den and pretend I’m an explorer discovering new lands, or find sticks and leaves to make amazing potions. This helps me be super creative and think of new ideas, which is much harder to do when I'm just watching a story on a tablet.
Please, let us swap screen time for green time. Our bodies, minds, and imaginations will thank you!
