Makes You Laugh

Primary & ElementaryModerateFoundational Writing

The Prompt

Get ready to share some giggles! We all have those moments when something is so funny, we just can't stop laughing. It could be a silly joke, a funny animal video, something a friend did, or even a moment when you accidentally did something a bit clumsy!

Your mission is to write a short paragraph or two (a few sentences) about one specific thing that made you laugh out loud.

Think about:

  • What happened? What was the funny event?
  • Who was there? Were you alone, with friends, or family?
  • Where were you? At home, school, the park?
  • Why was it so funny? What made you burst into laughter?

Try to paint a picture with your words so that someone reading it can almost hear your laughter and feel the joy too! Make it clear and exciting, just like you're telling a friend a brilliant story.

💡 Writing Tips

  • • Think of a specific time you laughed out loud. What happened?

  • • Describe why it was funny – was it unexpected, silly, or a bit clumsy?

  • • Use exciting words to show how you felt and what you saw.

  • • Don't just say 'it was funny,' explain how it made you laugh!
