Favorite Dessert

The Prompt

Hello, young writers! Get ready to make our mouths water as you tell us all about your most treasured sweet treat! We all have that one special dessert that makes us smile, whether it's a towering stack of pancakes, a scoop of vibrant ice cream, a rich chocolate brownie, or a warm apple crumble. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to write a short, delicious paragraph – about three to five sentences long – describing your absolute favourite dessert.

Think about it carefully: What is it? What makes it so special to you? When you write, try to paint a picture with your words so that anyone reading it can almost see, smell, and taste your wonderful dessert. Don't be afraid to use lots of descriptive words! For example, is your dessert 'sparkling', 'gooey', 'fluffy', 'crispy', or 'creamy'? How does it make you feel when you're enjoying it?

Let your imagination (and your sweet tooth!) guide you as you share your delightful dessert story!

💡 Writing Tips

  • Start by clearly naming your favourite dessert.

  • Describe what it looks like (e.g., its colours, shape, or toppings).

  • Explain how it tastes (e.g., sweet, fruity, creamy, crunchy).

  • Use exciting adjectives to make your descriptions vivid (e.g., 'sparkling', 'gooey', 'fluffy').

  • Tell us how eating it makes you feel.
