Frequent Place

Primary & ElementaryModerateFoundational Writing

The Prompt

Think about a place you visit very often, maybe every week or even every day! It could be your local park, the library, your grandma's house, a favourite shop, or even a special corner in your own home.

Your task is to write a descriptive paragraph or two about this place. Imagine you are trying to describe it to someone who has never been there before. Make them feel like they are right there with you!

Here are some ideas to help you:

  • What does it look like? (Colours, shapes, sizes, big or small?)
  • What can you hear? (Noises, music, quiet sounds?)
  • What can you smell or feel? (Fresh air, warm, cold, soft, bumpy?)
  • Who do you usually go with? (Friends, family, pets?)
  • What do you do there? (Play, read, chat, relax, learn?)
  • Why is this place special to you? What makes it your 'frequent place'?

💡 Writing Tips

  • Imagine you're taking a new friend there. What would you show them?

  • Use your five senses! What can you see, hear, smell, taste (if applicable), or feel?

  • How do you feel when you're there? Happy, excited, calm?

  • Think about what makes this place special to you.

  • Use interesting words (adjectives) to describe things, like 'sparkling' or 'bustling.'
