The Prompt

Get ready to become a fruit champion! We want you to write about your absolute favourite fruit and convince everyone that it's the best in the whole wide world. Imagine you're selling it to someone – what would you say to make them desperate to try it?

Start by picking one special fruit. Now, let's explore it with all your senses:

  • Look: What vibrant colours does it have? Is it shiny, dull, or speckled? What's its unique shape?
  • Touch: How does it feel in your hand? Is it smooth, bumpy, soft, or firm?
  • Smell: Does it have a sweet, tangy, or fresh smell?
  • Taste: This is the most important part! Is it crunchy, juicy, smooth, sour, sweet, or a mix? How does it make your mouth feel?

Use exciting, descriptive words (adjectives!) to paint a picture and make your fruit sound incredibly delicious and irresistible. Don't just say 'it's nice'; tell us why it's nice and how it makes you feel when you eat it. Does it make you feel happy, refreshed, or energetic?

You can write a short paragraph or a few brilliant sentences. When you're finished, read it carefully to check your spelling and punctuation. Let your fruit shine!

πŸ“ Sample Answer

My favourite fruit has to be the magnificent mango! It's like holding a sunset in your hand, with its skin a glorious blend of sunny yellow, fiery orange, and rosy red. When you slice into its smooth, firm flesh, a sweet, tropical scent fills the air, instantly transporting you to a warm beach. Each bite is a burst of pure sunshine – incredibly juicy, wonderfully sweet, and so incredibly soft it melts in your mouth. Nothing else tastes quite like it, and eating a mango always makes me feel happy and refreshed, like a little holiday for my taste buds. It’s definitely the king of all fruits!
