Shiny New Coin
The Prompt
Imagine you've just been given a brand new, sparkling coin! It's so new it hasn't even been spent yet. Your task is to describe this special coin using all your senses, especially sight and touch.
What does it look like? Does it shimmer and shine under the light? What colours do you see reflecting off its surface? Are the pictures and words on it crisp and clear? Is it a particular colour like gold, silver, or copper? Think about its size and shape too.
Now, what does it feel like when you hold it? Is it smooth and cool? Does it have rough edges or bumpy patterns? Is it heavy or light? Use exciting adjectives (describing words) and powerful verbs (doing words) to make your description come alive so that anyone reading it can almost see and feel the coin themselves!

📝 Sample Answer
In my palm lay a perfect, brand new coin, gleaming like a tiny, polished sun. Its surface, so smooth and untouched, mirrored the light, sending little flashes dancing across the room. The Queen's face, etched with incredible detail, stood out crisply, surrounded by tiny, clear letters. Running my thumb around its edge, I felt the satisfying, evenly-spaced ridges, each one sharp and distinct. It was cool to the touch, a solid circle of promise, heavy with the weight of possibility.
