Barefoot on Grass
The Prompt
Get ready to explore the wonderful world beneath your feet! Your mission is to describe, in amazing detail, what it feels like to walk barefoot on grass. Imagine it's a lovely day, perhaps in your garden or a park. Take a moment to really feel the ground.
- What does the grass feel like against your skin? Is it soft and tickly, or perhaps a bit rough? Is it cool and damp from morning dew, or warm and dry from the sun? Maybe it's squishy underfoot, or a bit spiky in places.
- What do you see? Look down at your toes wiggling in the green blades.
- What do you hear? Do you hear the gentle swish of your feet, or maybe the buzz of a bee nearby?
- What do you smell? Does the grass have a fresh, earthy scent?
Try to use lots of descriptive words (adjectives!) to paint a picture with your words, so someone reading it can almost feel the grass themselves!

📝 Sample Answer
The first step onto the lawn was a cool surprise. Each blade of grass felt like a tiny, soft feather tickling the soles of my feet. It was a little damp, making the tips of my toes tingle as I squished them into the green carpet. As I walked further, the grass became warmer, feeling dry and bristly in places, like a friendly scratch. I could almost hear a tiny sigh from the earth with every step, and a fresh, green smell filled the air.
