The Prompt

Imagine you're painting a picture with words for someone who has never met your favourite teacher or seen their classroom. Your mission is to describe them so vividly that they can almost see, hear, and feel everything you're talking about!

First, think about your favourite teacher. What makes them special? Is it their kind smile, their funny jokes, the way they explain tricky maths problems, or perhaps their colourful clothes? Describe their appearance, their voice, their personality, and any unique habits they have. Don't just tell us they are 'nice'; show us how they are nice through their actions and words.

Next, focus on their classroom. What does it look like? What colours are on the walls? Are there posters, maps, or artwork? What does it smell like – new books, paint, or maybe a hint of lunch? Describe the layout, the furniture, and any special corners or items that make it unique. Does it feel bright and airy, or cosy and calm? Bring the space to life with details that appeal to all your senses. Your goal is to make your reader feel like they are right there in the room!

πŸ“ Sample Answer

My favourite teacher is Miss Lily. She has a bright, bouncy bob of chestnut hair that always seems to shine, and her eyes twinkle behind her round, purple glasses when she's about to tell a funny story. Her laugh sounds like tiny silver bells, and she always wears cardigans knitted in every colour of the rainbow. She has a magical way of making even the trickiest fractions seem easy, patiently guiding us with her calm, encouraging voice.

Her classroom is a vibrant explosion of creativity. The walls are plastered with our colourful artwork and a huge, laminated map of the world that we love to trace with our fingers. There's a cosy reading nook in the corner, piled high with squashy cushions and blankets, smelling faintly of old paperbacks. Miss Lily's desk is a joyful jumble of pens, glitter, and a tiny, smiling ceramic snail. Sunlight streams through the big window, making dust motes dance in the air, and you can always hear the soft hum of the fish tank, where two sleepy goldfish glide through green weeds. It’s a room that feels warm, welcoming, and bursting with ideas, just like Miss Lily herself.
