Spring Bloom Garden
The Prompt
Welcome, young writers, to the most magical time of year – spring! Imagine stepping into a secret garden, bursting with life and colour after a long winter sleep. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to paint a vivid picture with words of a magnificent garden in full spring bloom.
Close your eyes and picture it: What colourful flowers are waking up? Are there bright yellow daffodils nodding in the breeze, cheerful bluebells carpeting the ground, or elegant tulips standing tall? What sounds can you hear? Perhaps busy bees buzzing from flower to flower, or birds singing sweet songs in the branches above. What wonderful smells fill the air – the fresh scent of damp earth, the sweet perfume of hyacinths, or the delicate fragrance of cherry blossoms?
Think about how the sunlight feels – warm and gentle. Describe the soft petals of a rose or the rough bark of a tree. Use your imagination to bring this garden to life for your reader, making them feel like they are right there with you, exploring every beautiful detail.

📝 Sample Answer
Stepping into the Spring Bloom Garden felt like walking into a painter's palette. Dazzling daffodils, like tiny trumpets, announced the arrival of spring with their sunny yellow glow. Beside them, plump purple crocuses pushed through the soft earth, their velvety heads lifting towards the gentle morning sun. A sweet, honeyed scent drifted from a cluster of hyacinths, drawing busy bumblebees with their fuzzy stripes. Overhead, a chorus of chirping sparrows sang from the branches of a cherry tree, its delicate pink blossoms fluttering like confetti with every whisper of the breeze. The air was soft and warm, promising a day full of wonder amongst the vibrant tapestry of petals.
