The Prompt
Imagine it's your birthday, and there's a special present waiting just for you! It's wrapped beautifully, maybe with shiny paper and a big bow. Your task is to write a descriptive piece that captures all the amazing feelings and sensations you experience as you get ready to open it, and then the exciting moment of tearing open the wrapping.
Think about:
- Before: How does the present look? What size and shape is it? How do you feel holding it? Is your heart doing a little dance?
- During: What sounds do you hear as you slowly unwrap it? What does the paper feel like? What do you see peeking out? How do your hands move?
- After: What's the very first thing you see inside? How does that make you feel? Do you gasp, giggle, or jump for joy?
Use your imagination to make your reader feel like they are right there with you, sharing in your wonderful birthday present excitement!
