The Prompt
Imagine you're walking along a sandy beach, or perhaps exploring a hidden cove, when something truly extraordinary catches your eye. It's a bottle, old and weathered, with a tightly rolled message tucked inside! What an exciting, mysterious discovery!
Your task is to write a thrilling story about this message in a bottle. Think about:
- Who finds the bottle? Is it a curious child, an old fisherman, or a brave explorer?
- Where are they? Is it a sunny beach, a stormy coast, or a secret island?
- What does the bottle look like? Is it green, brown, covered in barnacles, or sparkling clear?
- How do they get the message out? Is it easy, or do they struggle?
- Most importantly, what does the message say? Is it a plea for help, a secret riddle, a treasure map, a mysterious warning, or a forgotten memory?
- What happens after the message is read? Does it lead to an amazing adventure, a puzzling mystery, or a surprising new friend?
Use exciting words to describe what your character sees, hears, and feels. Make your reader feel like they are right there with your character, discovering the secret themselves!
