Living in a Castle
The Prompt
Step back in time to a world of knights, kings, and towering stone walls! Imagine you are a child living inside a magnificent, ancient castle. What would your daily life be like?
Close your eyes and picture it:
- What do you see? Are there tapestries on the walls, flickering torches, or views of rolling hills from a high window?
- What do you hear? The clatter of armour, the neighing of horses, the roar of a fire, or perhaps the distant sound of a horn?
- What do you smell? Woodsmoke, freshly baked bread from the kitchens, or the damp stone walls?
- What do you feel? The cold stone floor beneath your feet, the rough wool of your clothes, or the excitement of a grand feast?
Think about your chores, your meals, your games, and where you would sleep. Would it be grand and exciting, or perhaps a little bit cold and scary? How would you spend your days?
Your mission is to write a descriptive piece that transports your reader right into the heart of your castle life. Use your imagination to bring the sights, sounds, smells, and feelings of living in a castle to life!
