About Eltham College

Eltham College is an academically selective co-educational day school in Mottingham, set within an attractive green campus close to south-east London transport links. It offers a broad programme extending beyond examination subjects, with a particularly varied scholarship landscape spanning music, sport, art, drama, design and even chess. The transition towards a fully co-educational community is a significant part of the school’s recent development.

The main Senior School entry is at 11+ into Year 7; the school does not publish a dependable fixed intake figure for external applicants. Candidates sit written English and maths papers, computer-adaptive verbal and non-verbal reasoning, and a one-to-one interview. Current-school references inform offers, and candidates can apply separately for co-curricular awards. There is no regular 13+ admissions round; places in Year 9 are considered only exceptionally when vacancies arise.
