Tech in Schools: Good or Bad?
The Prompt
Imagine your classroom. Do you use tablets for maths games, or computers for research? Technology, like iPads and laptops, is becoming a big part of school life. Some people believe it's brilliant! They think it makes learning more exciting, helps you find information quickly, and gets you ready for jobs in the future. It's like having a super-smart assistant right there with you!
However, others worry that too much screen time might be a problem. They wonder if it distracts us from our teachers, makes it harder to write by hand, or stops us from playing traditional games. They might even think it makes us miss out on important face-to-face learning.
Your task is to write a discussion piece about 'Tech in Schools: Good or Bad?'. Think about both sides of the argument. Do you believe technology makes school better, helps you learn, and prepares you for the world ahead? Or do you think it can sometimes get in the way, cause distractions, and change the way we learn for the worse? Share your ideas and reasons for both points of view!
💡 Writing Tips
- •
Think of reasons why technology helps learning AND reasons why it might make it harder.
- •
Use words like 'some people think...', 'however', or 'on the other hand' to show both sides of the argument.
- •
Try to share ideas from both points of view fairly, not just picking one side.
- •
Start by introducing the topic and finish with a short conclusion about your thoughts.
