No More Homework!
The Prompt
Imagine you have a golden opportunity to speak directly to your Headteacher about something that affects every pupil: homework! Many students, just like you, have strong feelings about it. Some feel we get too much, and perhaps schools should stop giving it out altogether. Others believe homework is a crucial part of learning, helping us remember things and practice new skills.
Now it's your moment to be a powerful persuader! Your task is to write a compelling letter or essay to your Headteacher, arguing passionately for or against the complete removal of homework. You need to pick one side – either 'No More Homework!' or 'Homework is Absolutely Essential!' – and stick to it firmly.
Your main goal is to convince your Headteacher that your point of view is the correct one. How will you do this?
- State your opinion clearly right at the very beginning.
- Provide strong, logical reasons for your belief. Think about your own experiences at school – what happens when you have homework? What happens when you don't?
- Use examples to support your points, making them more believable.
- Employ persuasive language to make your arguments even more impactful.
- Show them why adopting your idea would make our school even better!
Remember, you're trying to win them over, so make your arguments clear, well-supported, and very convincing!
