Sky Observation

The Prompt

Imagine you're a 'Sky Detective'! For this writing task, your mission is to explore the vast canvas above us. Go outside (or look out of a window) and spend a few quiet moments gazing up at the sky. What catches your eye?

It could be anything – a majestic cloud, a busy aeroplane leaving a vapour trail, a flock of birds soaring high, or perhaps even the gentle moon or a twinkling star if it's evening.

Choose just one fascinating thing you observe. Now, write a short, descriptive paragraph (3-5 sentences) about it. Try to use words that paint a vivid picture for your reader. What colour is it? What shape? How does it move? What does it remind you of? Let your imagination take flight and describe what you see!

💡 Writing Tips

  • Look closely at just one thing you see in the sky.

  • Use descriptive words (adjectives) to make your writing colourful, like 'fluffy' or 'sparkling'.

  • What does the sky object make you think or feel?

  • Start by saying when or where you looked up.
