The Prompt

Do you have a family member who makes you smile, laugh, or feel extra special? This could be your mum, dad, a grandparent, an aunt, uncle, brother, sister, or even a cousin! We want you to write a short piece about one of these amazing people.

Think about:

  • Who is this special person?
  • What do they look like? (e.g., "Grandma has sparkly blue eyes and a warm smile.")
  • What kind things do they do, or what fun activities do you share? (e.g., "My dad always tells the best bedtime stories," or "My older sister helps me with my homework.")
  • Most importantly, why do you love them? How do they make you feel? (e.g., "She makes me feel safe," or "He always knows how to cheer me up.")

Try to use descriptive words to paint a picture for your reader. Let's celebrate the wonderful people in our lives!
