Favorite Room
The Prompt
Imagine you're giving a special tour of your house to a friend who has never been there before. Your job is to describe your absolute favourite room in your home so vividly that they can almost see, hear, and feel it!
Think about what makes this room so special to you. Is it the cosy armchair by the window, the bright colours on the walls, or the way the sunlight streams in during the morning?
Use your imagination and your five senses to bring your room to life on the page:
- See: What colours, shapes, and objects fill the room? Are there sparkling treasures, soft rugs, or busy bookshelves?
- Hear: Is it usually quiet, or can you hear the gentle tick-tock of a clock, the soft hum of a computer, or the distant sounds of outside?
- Smell: Does it have a particular scent – maybe fresh laundry, old books, or freshly baked cookies from the kitchen nearby?
- Touch: What are the textures like? Is the blanket soft and fluffy, the wooden desk smooth, or the carpet warm underfoot?
- Feel: How does the room make you feel? Happy, calm, playful, safe?
Don't just tell us it's a nice room; show us with your amazing words! Paint a picture with your writing so your reader feels like they are standing right there with you.
