Sunny Park Day
The Prompt
Imagine the sun is shining brightly, and you've just stepped into your favourite park. What an amazing day! Your task is to write a descriptive piece all about a wonderful, sunny day spent there.
Think about using all your senses to bring the park to life for your reader.
- What can you SEE? Are the trees a vibrant green? Is the sky a brilliant blue? Are there colourful flowers or children playing?
- What can you HEAR? Perhaps the cheerful shouts of children, the gentle rustle of leaves, or the distant chirping of birds?
- What can you SMELL? Freshly cut grass, blooming flowers, or maybe a yummy ice cream van nearby?
- What can you FEEL? The warm sun on your skin, a gentle breeze, or the soft grass beneath your feet?
Try to use exciting adjectives (describing words) and adverbs (how something is done) to paint a vivid picture with your words. Think about similes (e.g., "the sky was as blue as a sapphire") or metaphors (e.g., "the sun was a golden coin in the sky"). Make your reader feel like they are right there with you, enjoying every moment of this perfect park day!
