Quick Rubric (4 areas)

  • Task: correct audience, purpose, and form
  • Structure: logical paragraphs, transitions, clear ending
  • Language: tone, vocabulary precision, sentence variety
  • SPaG: punctuation, capitals, spellings, homophones

Targeted Checklists (by task type)

Persuasive

  • Clear position and CTA
  • Evidence/devices used purposefully
  • Confident but respectful tone

Discursive

  • Both sides fairly summarised
  • Evaluative phrases and balanced conclusion

Descriptive/Narrative

  • Focused viewpoint and clear structure
  • Imagery, verbs, and sentence control

Article/Advice

  • Subheadings or clear sequencing
  • Reader-friendly clarity and examples
